Strates (Strata) immerses the viewer in an enigmatic landfill of colors where hues of violet and lavender intertwine, suggesting both distance and intimacy. The blurred vertical streaks evoke a sense of traversing an undefined space, inviting contemplation on proximity. In this ethereal realm, boundaries blur, subtly hinting at the hidden layers of existence where forgotten memories and emotions quietly resurface, interwoven within the fabric of perception. Rooted in Sébastien Pitt’s Segments series, this artwork conjures dreamscapes that weave between perception and affect. Generated with a custom MAX8 patch for 3D audiovisual performance, each scene features 3D structures, vertex displacement, and transparency shaders, creating dynamic textures and layered depths with a 360° rotation at 0.01 Hz. Rendered at 4K horizontal @60fps in a 100-second loop with ProRes 4444 and CPU-compressed H.264 via FFmpeg.
